Participation Intent

Companies/organizations fills the participation form and send it back to the Training and Placement Office, KIT via email/post. Suitable dates for pre-placement talk are decided after discussions between the company and the Training and Placement Office. After confirmation from the company, students are notified for the PPT date. The company may also, if interested, conduct selections for summer internships of the pre final year students on the same day as it is a general procedure followed by companies.

Job Description

A company provides clear description of role for job. It provides basis of measuring job performance. It ensures necessary activities, duties and responsibilities covered by one job or another.

Recruitment Procedure

Companies visit the campus on the given date and conduct the written technical/aptitude test, group discussion/personal interview as a part of their selection procedure. The company/organization is required to furnish the final list of selected students as soon as possible after the final completion of procedure. The selected students may or may not be allowed to sit in further job interviews as per the placement policy of the Institute.

Summer Internship

KIT has always cherished a strong relationship with the industry. We would like to strengthen it by inviting industries to provide our pre final year students SUMMER INTERNSHIP/TRAINING at their campuses. We see the internships as an opportunity to get to know potential future leaders and internships often lead to pre-placement offers for full time employment upon graduation. Internships are of vital importance to engineering students who prepare for careers in private industry, consulting, government and research. Internships bridge the gap between theory and practice, and provide students with practical, field-based, real-world experiences during their years of study.
Students are strongly encouraged to participate in internships during their course, during the summer KIT work collaboratively to identify and develop opportunities for students. Kitians have interned at software and electronics companies, research laboratories, consulting firms, government agencies, and entrepreneurial enterprises.

Careers and Placement cell is a student-centre unit for all KIT students. With a team of dedicated staff, we strive to deliver the most effective and all-round career services for students in career planning, training and workshops to provide vast opportunities for students to develop independent learning attitude and professional skills in launching a rewarding career.

To employers, we endeavor to promote the branding of KIT as the best source of noteworthy students who embrace high intellectual and professional standard as well as social responsibility awareness.

Career counseling

Career counseling helps students discover their true potential and interest in various subjects in order to help them choose the right career. Career counseling is the assistance provided to a student to achieve goals. The advice and counseling provided is based on - personality, ability and curiosity. The counselor is trained in administering tests that determine the aptitude and skills of a student, personality traits and subjects of interest. There is a face-to-face interview with a career guidance counselor. The interview provides the student with the opportunity to clear any doubts or queries student may have regarding career options and educational courses. It also allows the counselor to further judge the aptitude of the student, thus building on the preliminary results of the written tests.

Employability Training

With the rise of the knowledge economy and rapid technological change, there is growing demand for highly skilled, adaptable workers. Highly educated and skilled workforce is a key determinant of healthy and sustainable long-term economic growth. The rapid development of the current working world needs proficient workers mainly in fields which involved latest technologies. KIT plays an important role in helping meet this demand.

Institute-Industry Interaction

Institute Industry Interaction encourages its faculty, and students to interact with industry in all possible ways with the spirit of deriving mutual benefit. Communication between the institute and the industry is seen as the platform for best practices, latest technological advancements and their implementation and impact on the Industry. It is basically considered to improve the quality of technical and vocational education adequately to meet the needs of the industry and economy. To integrate industrial training and other inputs from the industry with the teaching-learning processes, interaction is necessary as it develops students’ awareness on job functions in the industry, attitudes to adapt to industrial environment, proper practical and relevant knowledge, skills and competencies in preparation to becoming self employed. Better interaction between Technical institutions and industry is the need of the hour. This will have great bearing on the Curriculum, exposure of industrial atmosphere to students and subsequent placement of youngsters in industries across the country. With the advent of globalization and opening up of Indian economy to outside world, competition among industries has become stiff. There is an urgent need to prepare engineering students for jobs in multinational companies, by exposing them to newer methodologies. These objectives can only be achieved well by bridging the gap between Industry and the academic Institute.

Industrial Incubation Center

KIT encourages and promotes a culture of creativity to innovate creative ideas into small and medium enterprises. The Business and Technical Incubation Center at KIT attracts economical creative ideas and turn them into productive projects and services to meet the needs of society.
The Incubation Center offers a variety of services such as specialized technical research and development, professional consultancy, manpower support, evaluation and techniques transfer, industrial information collection and integration, cooperative product commercialization and development, legal consultations associated with patent property rights and techniques transfer, financial planning support and so on. Keeping this in mind, KIT is associated with companies such as TCS, HCL, HP, IBM, RANBAXY, INTEL, EUREKA FORBES, MIRACLE TECHNOLOGIES, EXCEL CALLNET, WIZARD INFOTECH, IMPEACHABLE,TNS and many more….

The training and placement cell acts as an interface between the students at KALPI Institute of Technology and the industry which enables the students to make better and more informed career choices.

KIT has tie up with renowned Educational Trainers and industry professionals for all their training needs. Trainers are conducting seminars and workshops, quizzes in various disciplines to enhance the individual capabilities. Various sessions are devoted to personality development and communication. At KIT participation of the students in guest lectures, meetings, brainstorming sessions and presentations prepares them as modern day professional in their respective field.

Entrepreneurship Development Centre (EDC)

KIT is in process to set up an EDC which will act as a key resource centre for policy level institutions, curriculum design, resource material and human development in entrepreneurship education. As Ambala has around 500 small and medium industrial units and has excellent scope for young entrepreneurs in future. This Cell would cover various activities like project counseling, motivation development, project plans and overall confidence development through motivational activities.

Institute-Industry Interface (III)

Close interaction between the institute and the industry/enterprise is seen as the platform for showeasing best practices, latest technological advancements and their implementation and impact on the Industry. To integrate industrial training and other inputs from the industry with the teaching-learning processes, interaction is necessary as it develops student's awareness on job functions in the industry, attitudes to adapt to industrial environment, proper practical and relevant knowledge, skills and competencies in preparation to becoming self employed. Industry expectations are also echoed through sound interaction, particularly the requirements from new recruits who are expected to be oriented to industrial disciplines, job descriptions within the workplace with industrial practices.

Division of foreign language

We have an expert pool of renowned trainers to teach and train our students for Franch and German languages in order to enhance their employability as well academic/research career globally.

Designed Methodology for Teaching, Training & Grooming for Global Career Prospects

The effectiveness of Teaching-learning process is a function of multitude of factors like teacher, student, course, curriculum, course planning and assessment. The proposed programme aims to address these issues to make the teaching enjoyable to both teachers and learners. The Programme will be helpful for the faculties of all the streams of Engineering and MBA for better teaching and learning process.
